Features of the dental floss: Length: 50 m Packaging: Bamboo tin (long-lasting) Material: Corn-based PLA, mostly bio-based raw materials (see test results above), but also fossil raw materials Wax: Vegan candelilla wax from Mexico * This dental floss is definitely fully compostable. Dental floss made from corn fiber and other renewable raw materials is bioplastic, even if it doesn't sound like it or isn't explicitly stated. It's called PLA (polylactic acid). It is indeed biodegradable. But not in your own home compost. It needs to be composted in industrial composting facilities, because certain conditions, such as the right temperature, are necessary for it to decompose. To be absolutely sure this is true, I discussed it again with a bioplastics manufacturer from Cologne.
