The ethically and sustainably produced sneakers from the French label VEJA combine a clear conscience with fashionable style. All models are manufactured under fair working conditions in the Porto Alegre region of Brazil using environmentally friendly materials. The result is high-quality and extremely stylish sneakers that are deservedly enjoying growing popularity in the fashion world.
The suede is made from the underside of cowhide that has been brushed to make it softer and more supple. It comes from farms in southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul). It is tanned in Brazil using no hazardous or prohibited chemicals. VEJA uses conventional dyes that comply with regulations. Particular attention is paid to water consumption during the tanning process. The suede is also coated with PFC-free water-repellent oils to protect the sneakers from light rain. The suede is Silver certified by the Leather Working Group.
