It all began in 2012: The Rice Society reinvented the iconic, handcrafted footwear of the 1950s – worn by Mediterranean fishermen, farm workers, and even artists like Picasso and Dalí. After all these years and many adventures, the company has now decided to channel all its energy into a new sneaker collection. Their OPEN 21 is made from 100% rice and other recycled and organic materials. 100% vegan. 100% ethical. 100% handcrafted and designed in Spain. As design enthusiasts, The Rice Society considers sustainability a prerequisite for their creations. They love tradition, but also innovation. They believe it's possible to combine both: fun footwear and making a difference for the environment.
