Make your own flower bombs – we offer a complete kit with everything you need. So nothing stands in the way of your own seed bomb production. They're perfect for making gifts or, presented in a hand-screen-printed box, make a wonderful present in themselves.
The package contents are enough for about 15 balls, depending on how thick you make them.
The box contains all the ingredients and instructions; you just need to add some water.

The DIY box contains the ingredients for making seed balls in the correct proportions. Those who prefer to experiment a bit more will find helpful tips here.
Flower balls consist of three ingredients: soil, clay, and seeds
Soil - just regular potting soil; you might already have some. When buying new soil, make sure it's peat-free. Peat is an incredibly effective CO2 sink and should remain in the bog. Only products labeled "peat-free" are truly peat-free; organic soil can sometimes contain peat, so read the label carefully ;)
Clay - available in potting supply stores, well-stocked hardware stores, or if you only need a small amount, you can use healing clay from a drugstore.
Seed selection - good choices include calendula, cornflowers, poppies, mallow, dill, borage, cosmos, and many more.
Perhaps you have a garden where you can collect seeds? When buying, pay attention to the origin, whether it has an organic certification or is, for example, VWW Regio Seeds. Here's how: Mix equal parts soil and clay. For every 12 parts clay/soil, add one part seeds. A coffee cup works well as a measuring cup/unit. Mix everything thoroughly while dry, then add water until you have a dough that's easy to knead. Form walnut-sized balls from the dough. Then knead them well again and shape them into even balls. You can give them a final touch by dipping your index finger in water. To prevent your flower balls from sprouting immediately, they should dry quickly. Place them on a cooling rack or oven rack in the sun, or in winter on a (not too hot) radiator, turning them occasionally. Give them a night! ;) Tip for transport: Whether still damp or already dry, old egg cartons are perfect! Have fun!
