The "OCEAN MAT" yoga mat from Southern Shores is made from FSC-certified organic natural rubber and is probably the most sustainable natural rubber yoga mat developed to date. It thus protects our environment and especially the oceans.
Southern Shores uses an innovative three-layer technology to ensure maximum slip resistance, durability and cushioning of its yoga mats:
1. Slip resistance:
The top layer of the OCEAN MAT is made of certified FSC natural rubber, whose open structure ensures maximum slip resistance. Natural rubber is a rapidly renewable and naturally biodegradable resource.
2. Durability:
For maximum durability, they use an innovative fabric made from sustainably grown cotton inside the mat. This is bonded to the top and bottom of the mat using high heat, forming the stabilizing core of the OCEAN MAT. The use of heat also eliminates the need for toxic adhesives.
3. Damping:
For additional cushioning, they use a second layer of natural rubber. In the lower layer of the OCEAN MAT, they process production waste from the rubber industry, thus preventing it from ending up as waste.

The typical smell of the yoga mat is a natural characteristic of natural rubber and will diminish somewhat over time. Keep the yoga mat away from sunlight and cosmetics such as hand cream.
