The lemon is an evergreen citrus tree with yellow or greenish-yellow fruit that thrives in the Mediterranean and subtropical regions. Lemons are cultivated as ornamental plants (in orangeries) and as food. Juice, aromatic lemon peel, and peel oil, used in perfumery and food flavoring, are obtained from the lemon.
