Do-it-yourself! In keeping with the zero-waste philosophy, you can now refresh your beeswax wraps with our original blend or make your own. Our original wax blend consists of pollutant-free, pesticide-controlled organic beeswax from organic beekeepers in Germany and black pine resin from a traditional resin tapper in Lower Austria. If your beeswax wrap is no longer sticky and the wax layer has thinned, you can quickly and easily refresh it with our original wax blend. You can also make your own beeswax wraps at home in the oven using the step-by-step instructions. The wax blend is enough for approximately two 25 x 25 cm wraps using a fabric weight of 120 g/m². These are approximate figures and may vary depending on the fabric thickness and quality. Here's how it works: Preheat the oven to 110°C and place the wrap on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a coarse cheese grater (or a knife), grate some wax shavings from the wax block and spread them generously over the cloth. Place it in the oven and wait briefly until the wax mixture has melted. If necessary, you can spread the wax further with a brush. Remove the baking sheet and immediately take the cloth off while the wax is still liquid. Let the cloth cool. Tips: The easiest way to clean an old cheese grater is with hot water and dish soap. The block is easier to grate if you put it in the refrigerator beforehand. Please note that only the vegan wax mixture is suitable for refreshing the vegan beeswax wraps.
