Working for MADE51 allows refugees to reduce their dependence on aid, thereby strengthening their independence and regaining a sense of dignity and pride. MADE51 collaborates with refugees from around the world, combining traditional skills with contemporary design. Craftsmanship at Les Racines Du Ciel. To prevent migration and preserve traditional craftsmanship, Les Racines Du Ciel provides employment for people in their villages to produce its collections. The Les Racines Du Ciel range therefore includes pieces made from traditionally lacquered silk from China; hand-knitted alpaca garments in Peruvian villages; jersey pieces made from the finest organic Egyptian cotton produced in Portugal; and woven fabrics made in Brittany. All production facilities used by Les Racines Du Ciel adhere to ILO standards and the principles of Fair Trade. The label creates cherished pieces, crafted to the highest quality standards and featuring timeless designs.
