Clean the surface of the mat with a damp cloth. The mat's natural rubber odor may be somewhat strong at first, but will dissipate with continued use. Avoid direct sunlight. Residue from face creams, body lotions, or other oil-based substances on the surface will cause stains and reduce slip resistance.
