Organic from the very beginning. LEHMANNS relies on organic and biodynamic, open-pollinated seeds for a sustainable garden.
Product/application information:
Tomatoes "Roma VF" Produces delicious, fresh-tasting plum tomatoes with juicy, almost seedless fruit. A very high-yielding and robust variety.
Tip: The side shoots of the tomato plant must be regularly removed (pinched out).
Yellow pepper "Quadrato d'Asti giallo An excellent-tasting yellow bell pepper. The medium- to thick-walled fruits are squat, blocky, and weigh up to 200g. They ripen from green to deep yellow.
Tip: Soak the seeds in water overnight before sowing. The seeds need plenty of warmth to germinate. It's best to protect the young plants with fleece on cool nights.
Peas "Kelvedon Wonder" An early-maturing and robust variety with long, dark green pods. The peas taste very delicate and sweet while young. When they get too old, they become hard and shriveled. A low-growing variety that requires a trellis or other support.
Tip: Peas are very valuable in crop rotation! They collect nitrogen from the air and store it in root nodules. The following year's crops benefit from this.
Sunflowers "Giant" A robust annual variety with large flower heads on thick stems. The flowers are golden yellow with dark brown centers. Ideal as a cut flower.
Tip: Cutting the flower should ideally take place early in the morning during the summer, when the flower is not yet fully open.
chives Chives, with their characteristic leek flavor, are a popular and frequently used herb in every herb garden. Even the young blossoms are tasty and decorative. Easy to care for, vigorous, and upright.
Tip: When grown in pots, chives should be given a container with a volume of at least 5 liters. Repotting annually is recommended. Chives regrow quickly. The flowers rob the chives of much of their energy, hindering a good harvest.
dill A versatile culinary herb that can be used fresh or dried. Grows to a height of 100-120cm. Direct sowing is recommended.
Tip: Dill bolts quickly in high temperatures. Therefore, it thrives better in cooler temperatures. Nevertheless, dill needs a sunny spot to develop its essential oils. Dill can positively influence the germination of some vegetable seeds. Intercropping with cucumbers is particularly recommended.
