These cotton placemats feature a timeless design created by the Shimena Weaving Friendships cooperative and adapted for Folkdays: one half displays light beige stripes on a blue background; the colors are reversed on the other half. The placemats are available in sets of two. They are handwoven from high-quality, locally sourced cotton. Shimena Weaving Friendships used only natural dyes for the colors.

Folkdays is a contemporary fair-trade design company founded in Berlin in 2013 by Lisa Jaspers. They offer fairly produced jewelry, accessories, home goods, and clothing from independent artisans, family businesses, and local fair trade organizations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. With a focus on natural materials, all products are handmade and fairly traded. Each piece is unique, combining traditional techniques with contemporary design influences. Far removed from fleeting trends, the aim is to create timeless and distinctive products. In short: treasured pieces for eternity.
