The Fairveda facial sauna is made of red clay, crafted in Sri Lanka, and used for facial steaming. Unlike the well-known steam bath, where you lean your head over a bowl of water covered with a towel, using a Fairveda steam sauna is much more comfortable. Only small amounts of water are used, your head rests comfortably in the vessel, and the temperature is better maintained thanks to the clay. Additionally, essential oils can be dripped into the clay.
Red clay plays a major role in everyday life in Sri Lanka, as traditional dishes are still cooked in clay pots today. With its high pH value, it is considered hygienic and is used in medicine. In Sri Lanka, the material is also used in construction and gardening in combination with sand and gravel. Many potteries are supported by the government to offer workshops for young people. This helps to preserve the craft.

1. Skin Preparation: First, the face is thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, make-up, and excess oil. This ensures that the skin is ready to absorb the steam and the active ingredients of the herbs.
2. Place the facial sauna on a solid surface. Carefully fill the lower part of the facial sauna with hot water. Add the desired oils, herbs, or extracts to the water. Place the top part of the facial sauna onto the lower part and wait until steam emerges from the openings. Check the temperature of the steam before placing your face into the upper part of the facial sauna.
3. After the steam treatment, the skin is cooled, often with a cool, damp cloth. Sometimes a special Ayurvedic mask or serum is applied to further nourish and soothe the skin. After use, please rinse and clean the facial sauna with clear water.
